Florida law requires seat belts for all people under 18 years of age, and all front seat occupants, regardless of age.

Platform policy

The platform policy requiring the use of seat belts. Failure to use seat belts may limit your claims against the platform in the event of a mishap.

I complain to the driver, Karim, for every occupied seat without the seat belt fastened. I am the captain, and I have turned on the Fasten Seat Belt sign.

Additionally, I have safety features such as front collision detection, and auto-breaking, and I may bring the vehicle to a sudden and rapid deceleration or stop for safety reasons. In such cases, an un-belted passenger may end up being out of their seat, and into the object in front of them.

Other drivers

My driver, Karim, has a spotless driving record, and I am the top rated vehicle in the US by the IIHS for safety. Nevertheless, not all users of the road are as safe as Karim, nor drive a vehicle as safe as I am. This is why we may still have mishaps.

It therefore behooves you to wear the seat belt for your own safety.

No smoking or vaping

Smoking leaves a lingering odour which bother my driver, as well as other passengers who will enter after you. Whereas some vapes do not leave an odour, they do leave behind second-hand smoke.

Captain Tamar has turned on the No Smoking sign!

No open alcohol in the passenger compartment

This is both Florida law and platform policy.

Only water to drink…

Unless it is in a lockable, leak-proof container, water is the only liquid which may be consumed inside the vehicle.

No eating

Except for a medical necessity, e.g., hypoglycemia, no foods may be consumed inside the vehicle. This keeps bugs, vermin, odour, and grease out of the vehicle, and ensures that you do not get charged a cleaning fee.

No weapons

Except for law enforcement officers, no passengers are permitted to bring firearms or other weapons into the vehicle, even with a conceal carry permit.

Armed security and others who need to carry a firearm, may transport their weapons in a weapons case, inside some luggage, inside the lower trunk or frunk. It may not be stored in the passenger compartment.

To exit the vehicle, press and hold the Door Release button at the top of the door handle. If the window is closed, it will lower slightly. This is a normal safety precaution.

Push the door open, then release the button.

If the window was closed, it will close again after the door is closed.

In the event of a mishap, there exists a possibility that the vehicle may lose battery power, and the electronic door release may not function. There is a hidden emergency release for such an occasion.

To access the Emergency Door Release and exit the vehicle,

1. Remove the rubber mat from the bottom of the door pocket.
2. Locate the red lever.
3. Pull the red lever towards the interior and lift.
4. Pull the white foam tab on the cable towards front of vehicle.
5. Push the door open.

Be cautious of broken glass, as there is a possibility that the window may break when using the Emergency Door Release.
